Frequently Asked Questions
What is a VPS?
A Virtual Private Server (VPS) is a virtualised server that gives you dedicated resources (CPU, RAM, storage) within a shared physical machine.

You get the power of a dedicated server at a fraction of the cost.

What is KVM virtualisation?
KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is a virtualisation technology built into the Linux kernel.

It creates fully isolated virtual machines, each with their own dedicated resources ensuring better performance, security, and stability compared to container-based solutions.

What is the difference between a VM and KVM?
A VM (Virtual Machine) is the virtualised environment itself. KVM is the technology used to create and manage that VM. Our VPS plans use KVM to deliver fully isolated, high-performance virtual machines.

How do I choose a VPS package?
Consider your expected traffic, the number of websites or apps you'll run, and your technical requirements (RAM, CPU, storage).

Start small and scale up as your needs grow.
Our sales team is also happy to advise.

Do you keep backups of my server?
No, however, we do offer you full flexibility of your backups at reasonable rates.

You can order a backup plan add-on during checkout.
These are snapshots that allow you to roll back your virtual server to a previous state.

Which operating systems are supported?
Currently, you can choose between the following Linux versions:

CentOS 8, 7; Debian 10, 9.0, 8.0; Ubuntu 20.04, 18.04, 16.04; FreePBX 10, SNG7; 3CX.

Other Versions are available on request, however, custom mounted ISOs are not officially supported by us, we will not provide support for any custom OS related issues.

How much CPU do I get?
It all depends on the package you decide to rent.

A more affordable package will have less CPUs.
Our packages range from two vCPUs to 16 vCPUs.
A vCPU is a Virtual Processing Unit.
One or more vCPUs are assigned to a VM.
Each vCPU is seen as a single physical CPU core by your server's operating system.

Larger packages naturally include more vCPU's, however, the CPU is very often not a limiting factor.

In the majority of use cases, the most important factor is how much memory (RAM) is needed.
Modern PHP/MySQL scripts often use a lot of RAM, so RAM is very important when deciding which package to buy.

How many websites can I host on my VPS?
There is no hard limit.

You can host multiple websites depending on your plan's resources (RAM, CPU, storage).

What's the difference between a VPN and a VPS?
A VPN (Virtual Private Network) encrypts your internet connection for privacy.

A VPS (Virtual Private Server) is a hosting environment where you run websites, apps, or services.
They serve very different purposes.

What does a VPS cost?
Please visit our VPS pricing page for the latest plans and rates, as these are updated regularly.

How many IP addresses do I get?
Each VPS plan includes one free static IP address.
