How to Enable SMTP Authentication in Modern Email Apps
To send email successfully from your device, your email client must be set to use SMTP authentication. Below are steps for the most common and up-to-date email apps.

Use the following settings when configuring any email app:
Outgoing (SMTP) Server: mail.yourdomain.com
SMTP Port: 465
Encryption: SSL
Authentication: Enabled
Username: Your full email address
Password: Your email password
Open Outlook.
Go to File > Account Settings > Account Settings.
Select your email account and click Change.
Click More Settings > Outgoing Server tab.
Tick My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
Choose Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
Go to the Advanced tab and set:
Outgoing server (SMTP) to 465
Encryption method: SSL
Click OK and then Next to test settings.
macOS (Mail app):
Go to Mail > Settings > Accounts.
Select your email account > Server Settings.
Under Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP), click Edit SMTP Server List.
Enable Use Authentication and enter your full email address and password.
Set Port to 465, and SSL should be selected.
iOS (iPhone/iPad):
Go to Settings > Mail > Accounts.
Select your email account > Account > SMTP.
Tap your SMTP server and ensure:
Use SSL: On
Authentication: Password
Server Port: 465
Open Thunderbird.
Go to Tools > Account Settings (or Preferences).
Click Outgoing Server (SMTP) on the left.
Select your account and click Edit.
Ensure:
Server Name: mail.yourdomain.com
Port: 465
Connection Security: SSL
Authentication Method: Normal password
Username: Your full email address
Open Mail / New Outlook app.
Go to Settings > Manage Accounts.
Select the email account > Change mailbox sync settings > Advanced mailbox settings.
Set:
Outgoing SMTP server: mail.yourdomain.com:465
Tick Outgoing server requires authentication
Use the same username and password for sending email
Encryption: SSL
Always use 587 with STARTTLS or 465 with SSL for compatibility and security.
Do not use port 25—many ISPs block it.
Make sure your login uses the full email address, not just the username.
