Step 1: Log In to Your Hosting Control Panel

  • Log in to your cPanel or DirectAdmin account (you can do this directly from your HostAfrica client area).

Step 2: Open Softaculous

  1. Scroll down until you find the "Softaculous Apps Installer" section.

  2. Click on the WordPress icon.

Step 3: Go to the Import Option
  1. Once inside the Softaculous WordPress area, look for the Import Installations tab (usually in the top menu).

  2. Click on it.

Step 4: Choose the Import Type

You’ll see two options:

  • From Other Auto Installers – Select this if WordPress was installed using another app installer.

  • Manual Installations – Select this if you uploaded WordPress manually (e.g., via FTP or file manager).

If you're unsure, choose "Manual Installations"—it's a safe default.

Step 5: Start Scanning
  • Click the "Start Scanning for Installations" button.

  • Softaculous will now scan your hosting account for any existing WordPress sites.

Step 6: Done! Manage Your Site in Softaculous
  • After a few minutes, your WordPress site will appear in Softaculous.

  • You can now:

    • Log in to WordPress without entering a password.

    • Update plugins and themes easily.

    • Clone, backup, or remove the installation.

    • Apply security updates directly from Softaculous.

Helpful Tips
  • This process does not require your WordPress login credentials.

  • It only works for WordPress sites already installed on the same hosting account.

  • If the site is hosted elsewhere, you may need to migrate it first.
