How to Remotely Import a WordPress Site via Softaculous using FTP login details
Whether you're migrating from another host or just consolidating your sites, Softaculous makes importing WordPress sites quick and easy. Here’s a simple guide to importing a WordPress site from a remote server using control panel or FTP login details

Log in to the Control Panel.
Scroll down to Softaculous Apps Installer and click the WordPress icon.
You'll be taken to the WordPress Manager interface (still part of Softaculous).
In the WordPress Manager, click the Import tab at the top.
Select From Remote Server.
You’ll now be asked to provide Source and Destination details.
Field: What to Enter
a) Domain Name: The domain name of the source WordPress site (e.g., example.com) — don’t include http:// or https://.Server
b) Host: Optional — use only if the domain and host are different.
c) Protocol: Choose FTP, FTPS, or SFTP (FTP is the default).
d) Port: Default is 21 for FTP.
Use another if needed.
e) FTP Username: Usually your cPanel or FTP username.
f) FTP Password: The password for the FTP user above.
g) FTP Path: The folder path after you connect — e.g., /public_html
h) Installation Directory: Optional.
Leave blank if WordPress is installed directly under /public_html.
Field: What to Enter
a) Choose Protocol: Select the correct protocol (usually https://).
b) Choose Domain: Select the domain hosted in your current hosting panel where you want to import the site in.
c) Directory: Optional — leave blank to install to the root (/public_html).
d) Database Name: Enter a name for the new database that will store the imported site.
Once you’ve filled in both sections, click Import.
The process will run in the background.(You will receive a notification when the process starts and another when the process completes)
You can view the import progress by clicking the Task List tab (top menu).
Once it reaches 100%, and you see Import Completed, you're good to go!
The site will now appear under your WordPress Installations in Softaculous.
