How to Set Up Email on an iPhone using IMAP and SSL settings

1. Open Mail Settings
On your iPhone, open Settings (⚙️ gear icon).
Scroll down and tap Mail.
Tap Accounts → Add Account.
Select Other → Add Mail Account.
2. Enter Your Email Details
You'll see a form asking for your details:
Name: (Your name – this is what recipients will see when you send emails)
Email: (Your full email address, e.g., [email protected])
Password: (The password for your email account)
Description: (A label like "Work Email" or "Business Email")
Tap "Next" to continue.
3. Choose the Account Type
Now, you'll see two options: IMAP and POP.
Select IMAP (Recommended – keeps emails synced across all devices).4. Enter Incoming & Outgoing Mail Server Settings
You’ll now enter the mail server details.
For both incoming and outgoing mail servers, use:
Incoming Mail Server (IMAP): yourmailserver.com
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP): yourmailserver.com
For both: Incoming Mail Server and Outgoing Mail Server
Username: (Your full email address, e.g., [email protected])
Password: (Your email password)
Tap "Next" and wait for verification.
5. Enable Secure Connection (SSL) & Set Port Numbers
After verification, follow these steps:
Go back to Settings → Mail → Accounts.
Select the email account you just added.
Tap Account → Advanced.
Check Incoming Mail (IMAP) Settings:
- Use SSL: ✅ ON
- IMAP Port: 993
- Authentication: Password
Check Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Settings:
- Tap SMTP → Select the primary server (e.g., yourmailserver.com).
- Use SSL: ✅ ON
- SMTP Port: 465
- Authentication: Password
Tap "Done" to save settings.
Open the Mail app on your iPhone.
Try sending a test email to yourself.
Check if you receive emails correctly.
Congrats! Your email is now set up.
